Studio
|
|
| My
art studio is located in the hill country just outside
of Austin, Texas. It is a
home studio where a room is dedicated to creating my
artwork.
My
painting space has an easel, a table with paints,
brushes, palettes and water spray bottles. The
paints are on the wall in a clear shoe storage unit for
easy visual and access to color. (See at right).
The
room is equipped with a drafting table for preliminary
setting up of canvas drawings as well as
post-painting final preparations, such as
varnishing, back information and hanging apparatus. Shipping
my art around the world has become a business all it's
own. I have shipping boxes in various sizes and
pack the art tightly and securely for long distance
travel. All art is shipped from the United States Postal Service and insurance is
taken out on each original piece. |

Canvas
All
my paintings are created on Gallery Canvases, which are
1 1/2 inches deep. You do not have to frame them
unless you want.
The
sides are painted in a color that compliments the colors
within the art.
The
canvas size for each painting is located on their
respective pages, which you can access from the Gallery
pages. |
| Hanging
All
finished paintings are ready to be hung. When I
ship a painting you can just unwrap it, hassle-free and
hang it immediately.
Written
on the back is the title of the piece, a copyright
notice with the date of completion. The medium, which is
always acrylic, is posted there as well. |

Paint All
paintings are created with Acrylics. I use
several brands depending on the colors that are offered.
Pearl, Daler Rowney, Windsor & Newton and Liquitex
are some of the brands.
Warm
tones are the basis of all my paintings, using other
cool colors to add intensity and drama to a piece.
My
paint tubes are visible in the shoe storage unit hanging on the wall
above my working table. This great discovery makes it very easy to
pick and choose colors as I am working.

| Creating
Models
All
of the men in my paintings are unique creations. I
have a vast collection of images that I
use to create my models. They are categorized by
body position, angles, facial movements from up,
down, 45 degree angle, profile, back, also sitting,
standing, squatting, foreshortened, etc. I combine
2-3 images to create the model that I intend to
paint.
Once I have the model created, I draw it on
canvas and begin painting. While in the painting
process, I often change characteristics such as hair
color, body fur, eye position, hand position. etc.
Backgrounds just come as I am painting and create them
in the moment.
In
the end, I always strive for a very masculine figure
that is mature and sexy! |
